24-karat gold per tola jumps by Rs4,000 to Rs342,500; international rates surge by $40 per ounce on safe-haven demand

Gold prices in Pakistan soared on Monday, with the price of 24-karat gold per tola rising by Rs4,000 to reach an all-time high of Rs342,500. Similarly, the price of 10 grams increased by Rs3,429, settling at Rs293,638. The surge followed a $40 per ounce jump in the international market, where gold climbed to $3,241 due to economic uncertainty and strong demand for safe-haven assets.

According to the All Pakistan Sarafa Gems and Jewellers Association, silver prices remained unchanged locally, with 24-karat silver per tola stable at Rs3,410 and 10 grams at Rs2,923. Globally, spot silver rose 0.8% to $32.52 an ounce, while platinum gained 0.4% to $992.06.

Market analysts attribute the sustained rise to ongoing volatility, currency fluctuations, and heightened investor interest in precious metals. Jewellers anticipate further price adjustments in the coming days as global trends continue to influence local markets.
